Bravida takes on large hospital project in Tromsø, Norway

The University Hospital in Tromsø, Norway, is being expanded in order to strengthen its position as the region's foremost hospital, and to become a national leader in diagnostics, treatment, teaching and research. Bravida has been entrusted to install electrical, plumbing and HVAC at an order value of approximately NOK 280 million.

Press release

The project will adapt existing buildings, expand an existing wing, build one new wing as well as two new buildings. The buildings will house outpatient clinics, emergency rooms, operating rooms, intensive care, monitoring, laboratories, administrative functions and technical rooms.

– We just finished the extensive installation work on the new Østfold Hospital in Norway where we installed electricity, plumbing, HVAC and security. The engineering and construction method used in this project will be the same as with the Østfold Hospital. This means that we can use our experiences from both that project as well as other hospital projects we have completed. This project will strengthen our plumbing and HVAC business regionally as well as nationally in Norway, says Mattias Johansson, CEO and Group President of Bravida.

The general contractor for the project is Consto AS. They put high value in holding the timeplans, the costs, and delivering the expected quality.

– Bravida will have a major focus on planning and logistics to ensure that the value-creating time of the project will be as large as possible, and that we install everything as efficiently as possible. It is very important for us that our emplowees’ workplace is safe. The working environment is therefore always one of our main focuses, says Tore Bakke, Division Manager Bravida Norway.

The planning is currently ongoing and the project should be ready for trial operation by November 1st, 2017.
