The Swedish Transport Administration and Bravida have signed a second contract regarding the Stockholm Bypass Project, one of Sweden’s largest infrastructure projects ever. The contract includes water and wastewater and fixed fire extinguishing and has an order value of approximately SEK 1.15 billion.
The Stockholm Bypass Project is one of Sweden’s largest infrastructure projects ever. It will connect the southern and northern parts of the Stockholm County, relieving the city’s arterial roads of traffic.
Bravida has now signed the contract for Project FSE902, which was awarded to Bravida on August 28, 2018. The contract includes all installations within water and wastewater and fixed fire extinguishing. It will be registered to the order intake during the first quarter 2019. The order value is approximately SEK 1.15 billion.
Bravida has previously signed a contract including all installations within power supply lighting and general ventilation and cooling (FSE902). The combined order value for the contracts is more than SEK 2.7 billion.
“Our size, competence and experience makes it possible for us to take on projects of this magnitude. The contracts contribute to a stable future for Bravida, exciting opportunities for our employees, and give Bravida an opportunity to hire new employees”, says Mattias Johansson, Bravida’s CEO and Group President.
Bravida’s part in the project will begin in the first half of 2019 with a three-year design and planning phase, followed by two years of production. After testing and deployment of the technical systems, the tunnel is planned to be opened in 2026. After the opening, Bravida will be responsible for operations and maintenance for additional two years.
Mika Sundholm, Project Manager, says:
“We are proud and humble to receive the confidence of carrying out two of the largest contracts within the Stockholm Bypass Project. Bravida’s previous experience from large infrastructure projects with the Swedish Transport Administration as client, will be of big help in both projects.”
The Swedish Transport Administration is the first Swedish governmental authority to add employment-creating measures to their contracts on the government’s request. Therefore, Bravida’s contracts include cooperation with the Swedish Public Employment Service to create about 50 new positions. In total, the Stockholm Bypass Project will involve about 60 office workers and just over 500 fitters from Bravida.
