Bravida Finland wins installation assignment for Wärtsilä in Vaasa

Bravida has signed an agreement with Wärtsilä Finland Oy for the installation of electricity and ventilation in the Wärtsilä Smart Technology Hub, a new center for research, development and production in Vaasa, Finland.

Press release

Wärtsilä is a world-leading supplier in smart technologies and complete lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets, and supplies, among other things, propulsion systems for vessels, complete power plants, and battery solutions.

As part of its vision of a smart transport and energy sector, the company is now building its new Smart Technology Hub, a new center for research, development and production in Vaasa, Finland, and an office building.

Bravida has been commissioned to carry out all installations within electricity and ventilation in the new buildings, which have a total area of approximately 73,000 square meters.

“The project is unique in its kind, and we were looking for creative proposals to create efficient installations. We chose Bravida, as they have the size and experience of larger projects required. We believe that they will be able to help us create an efficient and good project”, says Tommy Grannas, General Manager, Real Estate at Wärtsilä Finland Oy.

Jonas Björkskog, Bravida's regional manager in Ostrobothnia, is pleased about the new assignment:

“The biggest challenge in the project is the size and height of the production hall. It will be exciting to take on this interesting project and put our expertise in both electricity and ventilation to the test. We look forward to getting started!”

Wärtsilä's total cost of the Smart Technology Hub will land around € 200 million, including office and factory buildings, logistics and infrastructure. The buildings are expected to be finalised during 2021.
