Bravida Denmark signs contract for more than DKK 300 million with French train manufacturer Alstom

Bravida Denmark has signed a record contract with Alstom, which is responsible for modernising the signalling system on the Danish rail network on behalf of Rail Net Denmark.

Press release

The Danish rail network is replacing its signalling system and introducing the ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) standard. The introduction of new standard is one of the world’s largest modernisation projects of its kind.

“We are looking forward to our ongoing close collaboration with Bravida during the installation of the rail signalling system and the construction of the traffic management centre for the eastern part of Denmark,” said Christian Algreen-Ussing, Denmark Representative and Customer Director at Alstom.

Bravida Denmark has focused for many years on becoming a leading installer of signalling systems in order to take part in the essential improvement and expansion of the Danish rail network, which involves investments of billions of Danish kronor.

“We built up a partnership with Alstom several years ago and it is now bringing results. This contract has a major future strategic value. We have the necessary capacity and expertise for the future rail projects that will be taking place all over Scandinavia,” said Staffan Påhlsson, CEO of Bravida.

Between 50 and 70 Bravida employees will be working on the project over the next few years. The construction work will begin in 2014 and continue until 2020 when the new signalling system will come into operation.
