Bravida is delivering two installation contracts within the Swedish Transport Administration’s E4 The Stockholm Bypass project.
E4 The Stockholm Bypass is a new motorway west of central Stockholm, approximately 21 kilometres long, of which 18 kilometres run through tunnels reaching depths of up to 70 metres below ground level.
Construction began in 2015 and the road is scheduled to open in 2030. The project comprises around twenty contracts, including five for technical installations.
E4 The Stockholm Bypass is being delivered in phases – planning, construction, and installation. The Häggvik–Hjulsta section will open to traffic in 2026, and the entire tunnel is scheduled for completion in 2030. Read more about the project phases on trafikverket.se.
Bravida’s two contracts represent the largest installation assignment in Sweden. Our scope includes installation of power supply, lighting, HVAC, water and wastewater systems, and fixed fire protection systems. Project video: Bravida Youtube Förbifart Stockolm
Bravida delivers design, planning, project management, installation, and testing across the project, with overall project management led by our PMO – Special Projects organisation. Design was initiated in 2019, with production beginning in 2023.
Installation and testing are currently underway, with most works scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Bravida will continue to support the project through integrated testing and system optimisation and is responsible for maintenance during installation and for two years after handover.
