Bravida increases focus on international procurement
In the end of 2014 Bravida started a long-term procurement initiative with the goal to reduce purchasing costs by 10 percent through lower prices, proper product selection and process improvements. As a step towards the goal, Bravida now increases its focus on international procurement. Bravida also strengthens its purchasing competence and capacity in several parts of the organisation.
Press release
– With fewer suppliers, lower price, the right product choice and an improved process, we have successfully strengthened our purchasing platform in 2015. We are now taking the next step by increasing the amount of international purchase in our mix and by strengthening our own purchasing organisation both locally and centrally. In this way, we create a leverage for all our branches in the Nordics who better will be able to benefit from Bravida's strong purchasing platform, says Lars Korduner, Chief Purchasing Officer at Bravida.
To increase the amount of international purchases is an important part of our work towards Bravida’s procurement goals. A new position, Import Manager has been created for this purpose. Gabrielle Schröder entered this position in the beginning of January. She has a background within international purchasing, logistics, and integration in production from Scania.
Kari Kangas will enter the position as purchasing manager in Finland during February. Most recently, he comes from Lemmikäinen Talotekniikka and Imtech Nordic in Finland.
In addition, Bravida has strengthened its purchasing operations with additional analytic capacity as well as purchasing officers on divisional level. The new recruits started during 2015 and the beginning of 2016.
