Record-breaking electrical installations contract to Bravida Stavanger, Norway
Today, Bravida signed an agreement with the Norwegian National Road Administration, Statens vegvesen, to deliver electrical installations for the expansion of the Eiganes and Hundvåg tunnels in Stavanger, Norway. The order value is approximately SEK 290 million. The project is Bravida’s largest ever within electrical road tunnel installations in Norway.
Press release
The Eiganes tunnel will be about 3.7 kilometres and will lead the E39 outside of Stavanger city centre. The Hundvåg tunnel is a sub-sea tunnel of around 5.6 kilometres, which is part of a mainland connection in the area.
– This contract means a lot to Bravida. We have a competent organisation in Stavanger which is well prepared to meet the demands that the client will make. Also, Bravida has substantial experience from other large projects on the Norwegian market, says Mattias Johansson, CEO and Group President, Bravida.
Among other things, Bravida’s assignment includes installation of 364.000 metres of cable for power supply, lighting, guiding lights and underground cables, installation of close to 4.000 armatures, 840 guiding lights, 450 lighted information signs and 240 CCTV cameras.
– We are very pleased for the confidence shown to us in this contract. This is an area where the growth has been weak due to low oil prices. One of the objectives of the tunnel project is to support and develop local workplaces. Now, our Stavanger branch is aiming for a record recruitment of apprentices this coming spring. We are very much looking forward to getting started, says Tore Bakke, Head of Division, Bravida Norway.
The project start is estimated to June 2017, and the project will run for about two years. In total, 50-60 employees from Bravida Norway will be involved in the project.
