Bravida Norway performs installation work at one of Norway’s first battery factories, with a production capacity for 700,000 electric cars per year
Morrow’s battery factory in Arendal will produce some of the most sustainable batteries in the world right from the very start. Bravida Norge AS has been given the task by Veidekke of supplying heating and plumbing, HVAC and automation.
Press release
The battery plant will have a gross floor area of 30,000 square metres and when production starts it will have an annual capacity of 1 gigawatt-hour (GWh) of battery cells. Once the scheduled construction phases have been completed, the capacity will be 43 GWh, which is equivalent to batteries for 700,000 electric cars per year.
“We are proud to now be part of a partnership with Veidekke that enables the production of cost-effective and sustainable cobalt-free batteries. We are now ready to start building the battery factory in Arendal together with the general contractor,” comments Kenneth Post, Branch Manager for Heating, Plumbing and HVAC (VVS) in Arendal, Bravida Norway.
The battery factory is scheduled to be completed in March 2024.
“This is probably one of the most important projects in the Southern Norway region during this decade. The project will provide significant synergies for Arendal and Agder, and is fully in line with Bravida’s strategy for sustainable solutions. We are very proud to be a part of this project,” comments Trond-Lauritz Larsen, Regional Manager for Agder/Rogaland at Bravida Norway.
