Bravida installs in Karlatornet, Gothenburg's first skyscraper

Bravida has been commissioned by Serneke Sverige AB to carry out a design-and-build contract involving all the installations for Karlatornet at Hisingen in Gothenburg.

The Karlatornet building is 245 metres high and has a total construction area of more than 100,000 m². It is part of the creation of a well-integrated urban district with a focus on ecological, economic and social sustainability. The project includes all the technical installations for 617 residential apartments spread over 74 floors.

“Karlatornet is a exciting project for us at Bravida, as we are refining our competence in high-rise construction. With this project we are strengthening our position as the leading installer in the Nordic region. We hope to participate in more projects in the Karlastaden district as well,” says Hans Hermansson, Regional Manager for Bravida in the Gothenburg region.

Bravida is also responsible for the installations in the utility building, which includes the emergency power, main power, cooling, heating sub-central, and overarching management control and security systems for the whole Karlastaden area. During the planning and purchasing, the aim has been and is to identify the most efficient and safe ways of working, as the project differs from Bravida’s previous projects in the Nordic region.

“With Bravida as a supplier of total solutions for the installation contract at Karlatornet, we have a provider with the right competence and the necessary capacity. That gives us confidence and we look forward to establishing a good collaboration during the project,” comments Anders Gustafson, Serneke’s Operations Manager.

The installation has already started and will involve around 65–70 Bravida employees. The project is scheduled for completion in 2024.
