Installation work becomes service assignment at Sweden’s largest post terminal
Every day the 500 employees at the Postnord post terminal in Rosersberg, Stockholm County, handle about two million letters. Bravida has already completed all the electrical, heating and plumbing, ventilation and sprinkler installations, as well as monitoring in this giant terminal. Bravida has now also been contracted to take over responsibility for operation and maintenance of the building.
At 49,000 square metres and handling 200 vehicles a day, this is Sweden’s biggest post terminal. Trains collect and deliver post to the terminal daily. Bravida provided all installations in the terminal, which was completed by August 2014.
“Every day about two million letters are handled in the terminal, which means electrical, heating and plumbing and ventilation systems need to work smoothly. With overall responsibility for operation and maintenance we ensure that this happens,” says Hamid Bakhtiari, Key Account Manager at Bravida Service Management with responsibility for operating maintenance with Postnord.
A total of 800,000 households and 77,000 companies receive their postal deliveries via the Rosersberg terminal. The terminal has low energy consumption and there are 2,000 square metres of solar cells on the roof. During the installation work, Bravida met Postnord’s stringent requirements for low energy consumption and will continue to focus on its operation and maintenance work.
